Abstract

Te purpose of this article is to examine the inﬂuence of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński on the life of Fr Popiełuszko and to answer the question whether the inﬂuence of the Primate was so important that he played a breakthrough role in the priesthood and in the activity of Fr Jerzy. Te research was carried out using the method of analysis of documents and other historical sources, and oral accounts also proved to be helpful. In the conclusion it was stated that Primate Wyszyński played a breakthrough role in the life of Fr. Jerzy, it would have turned out in a completely diﬀerent way if it had not been for Popieluszko’s fascination with the person of the Primate of Polish.
