Te article presents the basic facts related to the imprisonment of the primate in Rywałd, as well as selected aspects of his deep spiritual life, which he led during that difcult time. Tis was done in the light of several sources, among which the Prison Notes occupy a special
place. Te primate was in the Capuchin monastery for only 17 days, which is not very long. However, because these were the frst days of his isolation, they are therefore extremely important in his biography.
