A person is naturally a social being and lives in a specific social context. For this reason, the Church, in its mission aimed at proclaiming the Good News to humanity, cannot overlook this dimension. Catholic social teaching, which has been developing dynamically since the late 19th century, has inspired many priests to actively engage in social issues. Among the was Fr. Stefan Wyszyński, the later Primate of Poland. In light of his thoughts, the priesthood must first and foremost be faithful to the mission of proclaiming Christ and His Good News. Secondly, he placed importance on social issues that affect contemporary society and specific individuals. He advocated for priestly formation to aim at shaping pastors who would be sensitive to the issues of human dignity, religious freedom, and manifestations of all forms of injustice. An important area of action for pastors is also educating the faithful about social activity aimed at building social relationships based on Christian values.
