In the introductory remarks, the author reflects on the role of writers in shaping language and culture, as well as on the development of both non-Slavic and Polish theories concerning writers’ language dictionaries. The chief concern of the article is an overview of 22 significant Polish and Slavic writers’ language dictionaries, with a special emphasis on the notable contributions of Polish and Russian lexicography. Polish dictionaries, in particular, are recognized for their exemplary scholarly quality. This topic warrants further in-depth analysis and could form the basis of a comprehensive monograph.
