About

About the Journal

"Idiolekty" ["Idiolects"] is a peer-reviewed annual journal dedicated to linguistics that offers a unique platform for sharing theoretical findings, innovative research methodologies, and detailed case studies on various idiolects and their forms and variations. Beyond offering a rigorous inquiry into idiolectology, the journal also reports on significant research traditions and academic achievements, as well as current events such as new publications, conferences, academic meetings, and research projects in Polish and international idiolect studies.

The journal is primarily intended for philologists and cultural researchers, but it also welcomes readers from other disciplines with an interest in its subject matter. Although linguistics forms the backbone of "Idiolekty", it also intersects with disciplines such as literary studies, Polish philology, and cultural and religious research. The primary format is electronic, complemented by a secondary print (paper) version for broader accessibility.

Aim and Scope

The journal is committed to publishing works on idiolects in their various forms, variations, and manifestations—ranging from creative idiolects to those representing the speech patterns of specific linguistic groups or dialects. "Idiolekty" welcomes articles that are theoretical, empirical, or applied, spanning a wide range of research paradigms and methodologies. Submissions are also encouraged in areas that revisit historical traditions and achievements in the study of individual languages, styles, and texts. This may involve profiling eminent researchers, analyzing the contributions of specific research centers, or discussions of influential academic schools. Additionally, the journal provides a forum for intellectual exchange through reviews, debates, and summaries, as well as reports on conferences, academic projects, and other scholarly activities. Each issue also features a curated list of recent publications (monographs) from the past year.
