The Journal of Primate Studies is a yearbook published since 2007 by the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University Publishing House operating at the Centre for Documentation and Studies on the Person and Teaching of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski. The founder of the journal and its first editor (2007-2021) was Bishop Prof. Andrzej Dziuba. Currently, the journal is directed by Rev. Assoc. Prof. Rafał Bednarczyk, and remains associated with the Centre for Thought of Blessed Stefan Wyszynski, established in 2023 by Rev. Prof. Ryszard Czekalski, rector of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw.
Scientific profile
The academic yearbook “„The Journal of Primate Studies” is a multidisciplinary journal, its aim is to present and analyse the person and thoughts of the patron of the university - Blessed Stefan Wyszynski and other primates of Poland. This profile allows for the publication of articles and studies from various scientific disciplines. This approach, in turn, allows for a broad and in-depth scientific look at an important aspect of the history of the Church and Poland, which is associated with the institution of the Primate of Poland. It has not only ecclesiastical and legal references, but also important historical (interrex function) and cultural significance. It is the only scientific journal in Poland devoted to this issue.
