Submissions

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original research articles and review articles that have not been published previously and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

All submissions must be prepared in accordance with the journal's editorial and bibliographic requirements. Manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines may be returned to the authors for technical revision before entering the peer-review process.

Manuscript Preparation

Length

Research articles should not exceed 40,000 characters (including spaces and references). Reviews should not exceed 15,000 characters (including spaces).

Language

Manuscripts are accepted in:

  • English
  • Polish
  • French
  • German
  • Italian

Formatting

Manuscripts should be submitted as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) files.

Use:

  • Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • 1.5 line spacing
  • footnotes in 10 pt
  • A4 page format

Do not use manual formatting such as multiple spaces, manual hyphenation, text highlighting, or unnecessary styles.

Required Elements

Each submission must include:

  • title;
  • abstract (100–150 words);
  • 3–5 keywords;
  • bibliography;
  • author affiliation;
  • ORCID iD;
  • e-mail address;
  • short biographical note.

Structure

The manuscript should normally contain:

  • Introduction
  • Main sections
  • Conclusion
  • Bibliography

Subheadings are encouraged where appropriate.

Citations and References

Studia Gdańskie uses an author–date citation style.

Examples:

  • (McCormick 2007, 54)
  • (McCormick 2007, 54; Dohmen 2021, 40.45.71–73)

Do not use abbreviations such as cf.

The bibliography should be arranged alphabetically and include only works cited in the text.

Biblical References

References to biblical books should follow the standard abbreviations adopted by the journal.

Research Funding

If the manuscript results from a funded research project, this information should be included in the first footnote together with the grant number.

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal's online submission system.
