The article focuses on the analysis of the media presented in the television production – the series Rancho. The series, designated as a format having specific mechanism of selfdescription of culture is referred to as „Polish production of all time”. The local press, radio and television is analyzed in sequence. Their development and character are presented. Attention was also paid to their role in the local community life. The basic terms necessary for this type of analysis are also explained.
