Article Structure and Formatting

  1. The Editorial Board accepts texts that are original scholarly articles, reports, or reviews of academic monographs.
  2. The length of a scholarly article should not be less than 20,000 characters including spaces and should not exceed 40,000 characters (including the reference list).
  3. The journal also publishes reviews and reports – the suggested maximum length of such texts is 20,000 characters.
  4. Required formatting of a scholarly article:
    1. main text font: Times New Roman, size 12;
    2. standard margins – 2.5 cm;
    3. text justified;
    4. line spacing: 1.5;
    5. first lines of paragraphs indented by 2.5 cm, with no spacing between paragraphs;
    6. title: Times New Roman, size 16, bold;
    7. subheadings: Times New Roman, size 14, bold;
    8. numbering of subheadings is allowed if the article structure is more complex;
    9. footnotes are permitted only to supplement the discussion or provide extended information;
    10. additional formatting such as the use of tabs, custom styles, manual line, page or section breaks, or non-breaking spaces should be avoided.
  1. Each scholarly article should be accompanied by a separate file containing the following information:
    1. author’s full name;
    2. author’s affiliation;
    3. ORCID number;
    4. optional e-mail address (to be published with the article for reader contact);
    5. title in Polish and English;
    6. abstract and keywords in Polish and English;
    7. biographical note (up to 500 characters including spaces).
  1. The structure of a scholarly article depends on the discipline represented by the author, the research method, and the subject of the paper. Preferred articles follow the structure below:
    1. Introduction / Theoretical background;
    2. Research method;
    3. Research results / Conclusions;
    4. Discussion / Summary;
    5. optional: Authors’ contribution;
    6. optional: Funding sources;
    7. optional: Acknowledgments.
  1. Inclusion of graphic elements (tables, charts, illustrations, or drawings) requires that the graphics are embedded in the manuscript file, and also submitted as separate files in .jpg or .png format; the quality of the graphics is clear and legible; each graphic is properly described in the body of the text (e.g. Figure 1. Number of players in Poland in 2022, author’s own elaboration.) and titled accordingly in the file name.

    The adopted citation style is APA 7: https://apastyle.apa.org/.
  3. The abstract, depending on the field represented (social sciences or humanities), should include: a general introduction, research objective, applied methods, results, conclusions.
  4. The total size of submitted files must not exceed 15 MB.
