The ever-increasing technological revolution means that journalistic content offered to Internet users is no longer dependent only on the importance of the topics discussed, but also to a large extent on the conditions imposed by algorithms and the expectations of the recipients themselves. As a result, media that have so far specialised in topics related to politics, law and economics need to expand their offer. The phenomenon in question is illustrated by the changes that have taken place in the last year on the rp.pl portal. What did they consist of and what did they result in? Why can a well-functioning news service not exist today without a lifestyle section and what does the "Google Discover dictatorship" mean in editorial practice? This article attempts to answer these questions. The author's practical experience and the results of a survey conducted for the purposes of this work were used in the presented considerations.
