Features of computer games determining their educational success

Abstract

Nowadays, gaming is treated as a determinant of technological development and a key branch of the innovative economy. This translates into increased interest in games in many areas that have no direct connotations with the digital gaming space. This applies to the educational sphere. Games attract students' attention and stimulate their curiosity by using a number of mechanisms that, adapted in virtual gameplay, make game activities treated as attractive challenges that strengthen commitment to tasks, attention and concentration on the goal. This is the foundation for their effective use in learning processes.

The aim of the article is to analyze the content of both scientific publications and Internet articles presenting the features that make computer games an attractive teaching space. The review of the key components of games allows us to look at gaming as a space of great educational value and understand its effectiveness as a key element of new educational projects implemented by the Ministry of National Education.
