Abstract

The article consists of two parts. The first analyzes the process of granting exclaustration. This part will discuss the individual steps that must be taken to grant an indult. The reasons for granting exclaustration will also be discussed, as well as the persons authorized to grant it. The second part of this article will be an analysis of the canonical effects of granting exclaustration. The legal effects of exclaustration that were in force in the previous Code will be compared and then discussed with those that that the Code of Canon Law currently lists.

The source basis in the legal norms in force in the 1983 Code of Canon Law and in the documents of the Magisterium of the Church.
