The family constitutes the natural and fundamental environment for a child’s upbringing. It is within the family that children acquire essential social, emotional, and cognitive competencies. Key factors determining the proper fulfillment of a family’s functions include its value system, socio-cultural conditions, material resources, and the conscious attitudes of adults. From a pedagogical perspective, the functions of the family encompass the following areas: educational, socializing, identity-forming, caregiving and protective, psycho-hygienic, cultural, and religious. The literature describes various parenting styles and their impact on educational processes. A crucial element of effective education is coherent cooperation between the family and the school, based on mutual trust, partnership, and consistent educational influence. Despite the availability of tools and solutions supporting collaboration between families and educational institutions, certain barriers may hinder this process. Education begins within the family and results from the joint efforts of the family, school, and supporting institutions, which is essential for the comprehensive development of the young person.
