Abstract

People experienced in acedia struggle with a spiritual coldness that causes difficulties in living faith and interpersonal relationships. The manifestations of such a state of mind are: discouragement, frustration, the desire for constant change and empty activism. Their difficulties are confronted with synodality, which in its assumption is understood as a process of spiritual growth through walking together. It assumes the experience of full participation in the life and mission of the Church and can help them to live their faith and deepen their interpersonal relations. The measures for the process of transformation contained in synodality are: deepening the relationship with God, experiencing fraternal communion and experiencing spiritual discernment. Their application in practice can be an effective means of help for people affected by acedia, contributing to conversion and reconciliation with others.
