The article is aimed at introducing the issue of the role of parents who want to baptize their child, as well as tasks that they must fulfill before the sacrament of baptism. They are responsible for the important and fair baptism of children and, above all, they should know the requirements that must be met in order to be able to baptize a child, and also should know what effects this sacrament brings.
The most important duties of parents before the baptism of the child, mentioned in the article, include: early baptism of the child, request for baptism directed to the proper minister, providing the child with Catholic education, choosing a name consistent with the Christian spirit, and preferably the name of one of the saints or blessed catholic Church, the choice of the appropriate godparents, who will give the child a good example of Christian life and will help him deepen his faith, agree with the priest the place and date of baptism, and personal religious preparation for the baptism of the child.
