Abstract

The Polish Army in the Middle East led by General Anders in the Second World War was not only an army, but also schools for children and youth – the greatest victims of the war. The above-age experiences of the war of children were incorporated into the structures of Junack schools in order to be able to defend the homeland during the war, and after its end, using the acquired educational opportunity, to rebuild it anew. Among the schools, the School of Younger Volunteers (SMO), deserves a distinction. SMO was teaching facility from primary school, through middle school to general and vocational high school. It owes its uniqueness to the Commander Teodora Sychowska, who provided the students not only with educational conditions, but also created a real home and place for their development.
