Abstract

The purpose of the article was to conceptualize the term “robotics culture”. The thesis was put forward that robotics culture as a social phenomenon exemplifies the ongoing communication shift toward so-called "relational artifacts" with which users can have interactions that resemble/simulate social interaction between human to some extent. The study uses an analytical-descriptive and synthetic method. Based on the analysis, an understanding of robotic culture was proposed. Key stages of its development as a social process and the need for more research into the social presence of relational artifacts were identified.
