Abstract

The purpose of the article is to examine the current regulations concerning cryptocurrencies in the Polish legal system. Through the analysis of current regulations, the activity of judicature and the achievements of doctrine, it was possible to determine the actual designations of the analysed concept and to indicate their uniqueness in relation to the current legal status. The article suggests the need for separate regulation of the issue of cryptocurrencies and other virtual currencies by pointing out the fundamental differences between the two phenomena
