“The Jelonki Mountaineering Club” as a place familial development

Abstract

“The Jelonki Mountaineering Club” is an association which was founded in 1996. It operates from the Parish of the elevation of the Holy Cross located in the district of Jelonki, Warsaw. it originated among the youth altar servers of “ e light-life Movement” as a result of the need of pursuing the passion of rock climbing and walking in the mountains. it unites people who share the desire to experience God through contact with His creation. It is our deep passion to get near to God, who in His in nite love for mankind bestowed upon us all good things, by admiring the beauty of the created world. The author presents “The Jelonki Mountaineering Club” as a place of familial development. Not only does he describe the association in terms of its statutory aims such as the promotion of the cultural heritage of mountain territories, the awakening of a passion for travel in mountainous regions and the organization of leisure time for children and youth, but also on social and cultural and even theological aspects. He depicts the association as a community through which Christian families have the opportunity to ful ll the tasks spoken of by JohnPaul II in his Familiaris Consortion exhortation. According to the author, the activities undertaken by “The Jelonki Moun- taneering Club” ful ll the aims of this year’s.
