Abstract

Pointing out to the uniqueness of the Holocaust is hardly justified by its
objective characteristics as they can be observed in other mass murders as well.
The thesis of the uniqueness of the Holocaust is, in fact, an assumption, however, this assumption is generally considered to be justified. It can be explained by indicating that by murdering Jews, Hitler wanted to oppress Biblical God, whose visible sign are the chosen people. Since, from this perspective, Jews are incomparable, their extermination can be seen as incomparable.
