In the article The Death Penalty - Reflections from the Christian Perspective, Andrzej Zoll argues with presenting necessary defence and the deterrent effect as arguments for maintaining the death penalty for homicide in criminal law. During his analysis, he also shows that the death penalty cannot be reasonably treated as punishment in the Christian perspective.
