Abstrakt

The article focuses on dragons and their role in ancient Roman, Greek,
Egyptian and Middle Eastern cultures. By analyzing their appearance
in texts, the division into two main groups is made: the characteristic of
dragons and the function of the dragon motif. This may help in understanding
the origins, place and function of dragon motifs in the Bible.
