Abstract

The aim of the article is to outline the role of the diocesan bishop in the shortened process for nullity of marriage. The bishop is the only judge here and cannot delegate this authority to anyone. The first part of the article presents the reasons for the application of the shortened process. The second part presents the formal elements necessary to initiate the shortened process, while the third part is devoted to the issues of the diocesan bishop as the only judge in the processus brevior.
