Abstract

Ecological films aimed at children can be treated as a tool for media education of the youngest, aimed at modeling pro-environmental and, indirectly, health-promoting behaviors. The paper aims to analyze the ways of constructing a message addressed to a distinct target group, which is primarily intended to fulfill an educational and persuasive function. The main tool used in the article is a multimodal analysis of selected examples. This allows one to grasp the relationship between the modalities used in the selected films and the message of the films in question. The article is an interdisciplinary study, combining the perspectives of media studies, media linguistics, and film studies. The area under consideration – that is, films aimed at children – seems insufficiently explored in scholarly literature. In light of this, the article intends to fill a gap in existing scholarship.
