Abstract

The article presents a theological interpretation of the poem “Prayer” by Cyprian K Norwid, pointing to the poet’s vision of God's action in the world and of the meaning of prayer, which is not treated as a list of requests, but as a peculiatr hermeneutic situation, thanks to which a person better understands himself and the world. The analysis of the poem extracts the main themes of Norwid's theological reflection on the nature of God, his way of communicating the truth to man, which reveals the truth about the finitude of man and the power of words, which reveal the perspective of human existence.
