Abstract

An educational, pedagogical or "traveling" suitcase (or box) is a type of teaching aid that aims to introduce museum collections and other collections to the general public in an accessible yet multifaceted way. They can be defined as small-format "teaching exhibitions". As part of the ongoing project "Daily Life, Sacred and Art in the Indigenous Settlements of the Spanish Monarchy," such a case has been designed, containing copies of twenty artifacts from Spanish American territories from the colonial period. The planned teaching aid aims to familiarize students through material objects with the culture and art of Latin America during the Viceroyalty period. The project will be carried out in cooperation with the Museo de América in Madrid.
