In the article Death for Death, Jan Grosfeld looks into the internal contradiction in the teaching of the Catholic Church, which by allowing the death penalty in the Catechism, although in exceptional cases only, seems to give the consent to deny the message of life brought by Jesus Christ. The author argues that while one can understand that the state law provided the death penalty and in many places of the world it still does, the teaching of the Body of Christ should explicitly and ultimately reject this penalty.
