Abstract

This article assumes that a growing group of researchers dealing with geopolitics considers the analysis of the role of religion in geopolitical processes important. However, the research on the relationships of religion and geopolitics is poorly advanced. Culture and religion are connected continuously to the environment of human life, including the geographic one. Thus, the largest number of contemporary research is concerned with the influence of culture, including religion, on geopolitics, within the geocivilizational framework, which states that the basic contradictions of the world are cultural or civilizational, when civilization is treated as the widest whole, with which people identify. As a result, only relatively few academic researchers write about the need for the creation of an independent geopolitics of religion believing that the religious revival in the modern world has varied and, above all, independent geopolitical consequences. Considering the studies on the influence of religion as a new and necessary quality in geopolitical research.
