Czy tłumaczenie słów Jezusa jest poprawne i właściwe?

Abstrakt

Słowa Jezusa skierowane do dobrego złoczyńcy z krzyża, przekazane w Łk 23,43, można przetłumaczyć z języka greckiego na dwa różne sposoby w zależności od tego, do której formy czasownikowej zostanie odniesiony przysłówek czasu σήμερον („dziś”). W zdecydowanej większości tłumaczeń na języki nowożytne zostały one oddane w sposób, który można określić jako tradycyjny: „Powiadam ci: «Zaprawdę dziś będziesz ze mną w raju»”. Można je przetłumaczyć także w inny sposób, który istotnie wpływa na teologiczny wydźwięk słów Jezusa: „Powiadam ci dziś: «Zaprawdę będziesz ze mną w raju»” (tłumaczenie alternatywne). Pierwsza część artykułu zawiera analizę użycia przysłówka σήμερον w Septuagincie, Nowym Testamencie oraz dziele Łukaszowym. W drugiej części artykułu próba rozstrzygnięcia badanego problemu została oparta na przesłankach teologicznych. Choć obie drogi analizy nie dają ostatecznego rozstrzygnięcia problemu, to interpretacja alternatywna lepiej wpisuje się w nauczanie Kościoła dotyczące zbawienia, które ostatecznie dokona się na końcu czasów.
