Abstract

The article highlights the significant role of psychotherapists in the environment of psychiatric hospitals in Poland, emphasizing both therapeutic support and the development of treatment programs tailored to patient needs. The legal context notes the introduction of regulatory changes regarding the qualification requirements for psychotherapists. The adaptation of psychiatric care to socio-demographic changes is emphasized, pointing out the trend towards reducing the number of beds in favor of community care development. The necessity of hospitalization in selected, particularly difficult clinical cases is signaled. The value of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is highlighted as a method that increases the efficiency of treatment and shortens hospitalization time.
