Abstract

Author presents the concept of parliamentary club as a way (one of the ways) in which Deputies and Senators of the Polish Parliament can be organized. His focus is placed mainly on the legal basis that refer to the establishment of parliamentary clubs, as well as on the short historical brief of their creation process, which covers period between the two World Wars of the last century up to the present days. Analysis is partly supported by the examples
that apply to the parliamentary practice. The author tries to point out and explain a significant role of this type of association by relating to the Sejm’s and the Senate’s rules of procedure. In addition, the author presents a new approach to, inter alia, the minimal number of Deputies and Senators which can form a parliamentary club and to the information duty of its governing bodies to the relevant bodies of the Sejm and the Senate.
