Abstract

The article presents problem of a formal act of defection from the Catholic Church. Article describe regulations based on the Catholic Church documents such as: Code of Canon Law (1983), Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts (2006), motu proprio of Benedict XVI Omnium in mentem (2009) and the documents of Polish Bishops Conference. At the end of the article it describes the effects of the formal act of defection from the Catholic Church.

Dr Paulina Jabłońska - graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Krakow Academy of Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski in Krakow, as well as in 2012 postgraduate studies in Labor Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, and in 2013 postgraduate studies in Pedagogy for Teachers without Pedagogical Preparation at the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of Warsaw. In the years 2012-2016, she completed doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University, which she combined with work at the District Court for Warsaw Praga and at the District Court for Warsaw in Warsaw. In 2019, she defended her doctoral thesis at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Currently, a student of Canon Law at the Faculty of Canon Law of the John Paul II University in Krakow.
