TYPES OF SUBMISSIONS
«Prawo Kanoniczne» accepts the following types of manuscripts:
Research articles – original studies presenting new research results, theoretical analyses or case studies within the scope of the journal.
Review articles – synthetic works summarising and critically assessing the state of research on a clearly defined topic related to the journal’s profile. Review articles may follow a more flexible internal structure than research articles, but they must include an abstract, a set of keywords and a References section citing at least four scholarly publications.
Reviews – examinations of published books issued in Polish within the last two years and in other languages within the last four years. It is necessary to include abstracts and keywords in the language of the publications’ and in English. Reviews do not require a bibliography, quotations, and footnotes.
Book symposiums – publication format known in the humanities and social sciences, encountered in Anglophone journals under the name “Book symposium”, “Book forum” or “Debate on the Publication”. The debate surrounding an important and recent publication consists of presenting critical texts by 3-5 authors (each from a different perspective). The debate is preceded by a short introductory text on the topic of the discussed publication (editorial introduction) and concluded with a response from the publication’s authors.
Communications – commentaries on court judgments (glosses) and analyses presenting opinions, voices in discussion, or indicating new research directions. They do not require abstracts, keywords, footnotes, but include only an attached bibliography.
Reports – in justified cases, reports from important conferences, research projects or academic events directly related to the Faculty of Canon Law, or other scientific events held at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw (UKSW).
All manuscript types must follow the general formatting rules and ethical standards described in this document and in the PK template.
