The premice mass is an important day in the life of a neopresbyter, his family and the parish he comes from. Its sequence is specified by liturgical books. The paper provides a synthesis of the liturgical standards concerning this event, which applied before the Second Vatican Council - concelebration was not possible at the time, which led to the emergence of the function of the manuductor - a senior priest who indicated the Eucharistic texts to the neopresbyter. The premice blessing followed the so called Papal blessing, and subsequently the newly ordained priest would bless the individual estates, as is the case with the renovated liturgy as well. The paper systematises the liturgical regulations included in the liturgical books that apply in Polish dioceses, and provides an overview of diocesan standards applicable to the premice. Individual dioceses have adopted varying approaches to the above-mentioned Papal blessing, which is absent from the post-Council Blessing rites adapted to the customs in Polish dioceses. Mere participation in this Holy Mass entails an opportunity to gain a plenary indulgence under the regular conditions and is not tied to any additional rites. There are also differences in maintaining the tradition of, for example, blessing the premice wreath, in the time and place where the newly ordained priest is greeted, as well as in the recommendations for holding an agape after the Holy Mass.
