Abstract

The article presents the Author’s reflections regarding civil society.
The Author discusses the origin of the idea of civil society, closely linked to Popper’s concept of open society, and then presents the correlation between civil society and the influence the democratic system has on it in order to determine the relations between them. As a research method, the Author uses analysis of so-called impediments to the efficient functioning of civil society, depending on the relation with a particular social, political or supranational system.
