With Care About the Church (of the People) and About Poland Connected With This Church

Abstract

The article focuses on the analysis of the condition and potential of the
Catholic Church in Poland. The Church, understood as the Church of the people, has been inextricably linked throughout history to the national identity of Poles. However, the symptoms of secularization and the signs of neo-paganism in the Church have led the Author to reflect on the processes ongoing in the Church in Poland. The article addresses the issues of the relationship between the Church and the State, by discussing possible scenarios of the secularization of the Polish state, the factors that accelerate the process of leaving the Church, strengths and weaknesses of the Church, which influence the society and which the religiousness shaped in the Church of the people was able to experience. The current statistical surveys indicating particular tendencies and trends contributed to the attempt to answer the question regarding the possibility of stopping negative processes
happening in the Church. The presented article analyzes the phenomenon of the drop in the dynamics of religious practices and other signs of the weakening position of the Church.
