Abstract

This article presents a systematic approach to four paschal ritual models present in the history of salvation: the Passover of Moses, the annual Passover of Israel, the Passover of Christ, and the Eucharist (understood as the Church’s Passover). The point of departure is the identification of a shared structural pattern – comprising the parameters of “event” and “meal” – which serve distinct theological functions within each model. The study aims not merely at highlighting structural correspondences, but at uncovering a deeper convergence of theological content. It argues for the necessity of an anamnetic transition from historical to transhistorical reality within the liturgical experience. The proposed analytical framework reveals a profound continuity and interrelation between the rites of Israel and the Christian Eucharist. By formulating a hypothesis regarding the internal arrangement of elements within the examined models, the article offers a coherent interpretation of their mutual alignment and theological significance, while opening avenues for further investigation.
