Abstract

The aim of the article is a critical analysis of the content and formal aspects of homilies delivered as parts of Holy Masses broadcasted via the Internet between May 9 and June 13, 2021. The study refers to 28 homilies registered in 38 transmissions delivered in twenty Polish dioceses. The analyses allowed to draw specific conclusions about the practice of homily preaching in Poland. The content of the homilies is usually positive and free from doctrinal errors. However, there is a lack of theological depth and solid analysis of biblical texts. It would therefore be necessary to improve their theological, biblical and mystagogical quality. Another serious shortcomings of the analyzed homilies are weak anthropological actualization and deficiencies in existential and moral dimensions. Shortcomings regarding the formal side make it necessary to improve competence of the homilists in the field of using the living word.
