Abstract

The article analyzes various approaches to human subjectivity, interpreting it through the lens of communication processes mediated by digital media and the challenges facing education. Given the dynamics of social changes driven by the development of information technologies, an original definition of a distinct form of subjectivity − informational-communicative subjectivity − has been proposed as a category that facilitates a more precise interpretation of the human condition, particularly that of children and adolescents, within the digital media environment, which constitutes an integral part of the social system. By also using the opposing category − informational-communicative alienation − examples and mechanisms of objectification of young people resulting from the adoption of the commercial paradigm and the lack of transparency in recommendation systems based on algorithms were presented. In order to protect children and adolescents from all forms of violence and to create the proper conditions for their life and development, axiological and methodological proposals for formal and non-formal education were presented.
