Abstract

Antoni Danysz is one of the most outstanding educators in Greater Poland, a historian of education, educator, co-founder, and principal organizer of academic pedagogy in Poznań. He served as the first head of the Department of Pedagogy and Didactics at the University of Poznań in the years 1919-1924. Simultaneously, he held the position of vice-rector of the University of Poznań in recognition of his great organizational experience. The Poznań period was characterized by immense organizational, scientific, and didactic engagement in the creation of a new model of Polish higher education at the European level. He founded the Pedagogical Seminar, organized the Examination Committee for candidates for the teaching profession, and ensured the quality of pedagogical studies and the availability of textbooks. Danysz was among the scholars of the University of Poznań who contributed to its renown not only in Poland but also worldwide.
