Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present a collection of inventories and accounts from the years 1513–1526, known as Regestra Decanatus Sambiensis Fratris Alberti Deutsman Canonici et Decani eiusdem Ecclesie. This documentation reflects the difficult situation of the Catholic Church in Königsberg and the Diocese of Samland on the eve of secularization. It also serves as a valuable source for research on the sacred topography of Königsberg. The collection, now catalogued under the reference "Geheimes Staatsarchiv Preußischer Kulturbesitz Berlin, XX. Hauptabteilung, Ordensbriefarchiv 27824," primarily includes inventories, accounts, and lists of equipment from temples in Königsberg and rural parish churches. After 1525, it was taken to Warmia by the last dean of the Samland cathedral chapter, Adalbert Deutschmann of Gdańsk. The inventory, preceded by an extensive commentary, serves as a guide to this previously unexplored source material.
