Abstract

The aim of this article is to critically edit a register of objects removed from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth during the Swedish Deluge. This unknown in historiography inventory mainly includes carriages, as well as equestrian equipment such as saddles and chaps. It is the second discovered inventory of war booty from the period of the Polish-Swedish wars, aside from the register from Warsaw (1656). The register was prepared in 1656 in Malbork, but it contains items that came from Toruń. During the research, the location of the robberies, i.e., Toruń, has been questioned; it appears that this city served primarily as a transshipment point, and the objects may have originated from other centres, particularly Warsaw, which was the king’s residence at the time and also a central warehouse for the looted items.
