The article concerns the history of the Poor Clares monastery at Zamość, dissolved in 1782. The primary archival source used for its development is the chronicle entitled Dzieje klasztoru zamojskiego panien sióstr zakonnych Świętej Matki Klary […], (The history of the Zamość monastery of the nuns of Saint Mother Clara [...]). The manuscript is currently in the Czartoryski Library in Krakow. Thanks to the visitation protocols and reports from the elections of abbesses and convent officials contained therein, it became possible to learn about the last period of the existence of the Zamość Poor Clares convent (1768-1781). The records include information about monastic enclosure, the names of nuns, details about their taking the habit and profession as well as recommendations regarding the organization of convent life. The importance of this source is invaluable, as little is known about the history of this religious congregation.
