Abstract

Blessed Dorothy of Great Montau (1347-1394) is one of the most outstanding expiatrixes of medieval and modern Europe. The subject of this article are the acts of expiation, performed by her in the form of a prayer of deep propitiation. The analysis of this phenomenon, carried out on the basis of printed sources, leads to the determination of its: causes, course, essence and effects, as well as to the formulation of one of the theses of the Church's doctorate, postulated in relation to Dorothy Swertfeger.
