Important Changes to the Rules for Preparing and Publishing Manuscripts in Seminare
The Editorial Team of Seminare has introduced several changes to manuscript preparation and publication policies. Authors planning to submit a manuscript are asked to familiarize themselves with the current requirements before beginning the editorial process.
- Policy on the use of AI tools – rules have been established for the responsible use of AI tools in conducting research and preparing publications. Where disclosure is required, authors must indicate the tool used as well as the purpose and scope of its use. Responsibility for the content of the publication remains with the authors. More information is available at: https://czasopisma.uksw.edu.pl/s/ai.
- SEO Policy – the Editorial Team may propose revisions to the title, abstract, and keywords aimed at improving clarity, indexing quality, discoverability, and visibility of the publication, as well as supporting its long-term citation potential. These changes are editorial in nature, do not interfere with the scholarly content of the article, and are presented to the authors for approval. More information is available at: https://czasopisma.uksw.edu.pl/s/qqq (Section 4).
- Mandatory manuscript template – all new submissions must be prepared using the current Seminare template. The template is available in Polish and English for download at: https://czasopisma.uksw.edu.pl/s/qqq (before Section 1). It contains requirements concerning manuscript structure, formatting, citations, tables, figures, and digital accessibility.
- Mandatory statements – a set of required statements has been introduced concerning, among other matters, author contributions, funding, ethical approval and informed consent, data availability, the use of AI tools and conflicts of interest. Detailed information and model statements are provided in the template and at: https://czasopisma.uksw.edu.pl/s/qqq (Section 9).
- Digital accessibility – all graphical elements and tables should be prepared in accordance with digital accessibility requirements, including providing appropriate alternative descriptions (alt text). This is intended to improve access to publication content for blind and visually impaired persons using assistive technologies. Detailed guidelines and examples are provided in the template and at: https://czasopisma.uksw.edu.pl/s/qqq (Section 5).
- Citation style update – Seminare is moving from the 17th to the 18th edition of The Chicago Manual of Style. The change is minor and organizational, intended to make it easier for authors to prepare citations and references while aligning the journal’s requirements with the current edition of the Chicago Manual of Style. Detailed rules and examples have been included in the current template and at: https://czasopisma.uksw.edu.pl/s/qqq (Section 8).
The changes are intended to further improve the quality of editorial support provided to authors and reviewers and to align Seminare’s practices with new standards and challenges in contemporary scholarly publishing, particularly in the areas of research transparency, the use of AI, and digital accessibility. We encourage all authors to use the current versions of the documents and guidelines available on the journal’s website.
