Abstract

Biographical research, which is very popular in the field of social sciences in both Polish and international context, is an expression of contemporary society and culture, which more and more often brings to the fore the topic of the “life story” of a specific person. It also seems that this research may be the beginning of a “biographical turn” in the field of research carried out within the framework of (practical) theology and supplementing it with the richness of individual pluralism flowing from a person’s biography. In this context, the presented article has a triple purpose. Firstly, it shows the methodological foundations of biographical research in (practical) theology. Secondly, it reveals the importance of outlining possible research areas in which biographical research plays a central role. Thirdly, it points out some difficulties and perspectives resulting from the application of this research method for (practical) theology.
