Abstract

The article concerns the actual and important for education of society problem of incessant education which belongs today to the essential tasks of academies and universities. The author of the article motivates the necessity of permanent education with several arguments, such as: the accentuated by contemporary developmental psychology need of continuous development of human person, the civilizing changes occurring in the contemporary world, the necessity of attaining new qualifications and competences and also the service to society. In the end part of the article the author shows this special form of permanent education, which are the universities of the third age.
