THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE KRAKOW EDUCATION RESTRUCTURING FOR SPECIAL AND INTEGRATION SCHOOLS

Abstract

This article applies to the current problems of reorganize the school network in Poland for example Krakow. The author reveals the backstage of actions taken by local authorities to dismantle and transform schools, and also special schools. It turns out that besides objective factors such as the demographic and people migrations, there are other – hidden reasons for the education restructuring. According to the author – too often about the fate of the schools decide economic considerations. Meanwhile, the high quality of education requires not only the engagement of qualified teachers and using the best teaching programs, but also adequate financial outlays. The author notes the fact that, in assessing the functionality of schools, you should not apply the same measures for mass and special schools, because the second of them always fall of the popularity charts. Hence, comparing the education costs and effectiveness in schools of various types without taking into account the specifics of those designated for children with impaired development seems to be a serious mistake, and the consequences of it could be the most acute for disabled students.
