Abstract

This article presents the experimental study that investigated the effects of metro-rhythmic and melodic factors on information recall (9 digit sequence) by school-aged children. Children (n=33) were randomly assigned to three groups and asked for remembering and noting the sequence of digits in adequate order. The digits were presented in different form for each group: (1) reading, (2) reading with metro-rhythmic structure, (3) singing. There was no statistically significant difference between groups, according to the analysis of variance. However, the descriptive statistics suggests some trends in favor of musical presentations.
