Abstract

The oldest copier of the monastery of Regular Lateran Canons in Krakow was founded in 1432 and was run until the mid-17th century. A thorough analysis of this document allows for the formulation of specific observations regarding the order of the copied documents, namely that the arrangement seems to be substantive, or perhaps thematic. The copier was undoubtedly founded in 1432. It is assumed that the copyist was the secretary of the conventual chapter. The copier's manuscript opens with a table of contents, followed by copies of documents related to the foundation of the monastery, its endowments and privileges. It is undoubtedly a historical monument of exceptional source and cultural value. It was already noticed by historians of the second half of the 19th century.
